Hi, I'm Marlene. I am a psychotherapist who works with individuals who want to break the patterns and behaviors in their lives that are no longer serving them and create new ways of being and feeling that are more aligned with who they really want to be.
Using evidence-based treatment approaches I help people understand their feelings and themselves, begin healing their trauma and live more authentic lives. I also help them recognize how maybe what they are doing, or not doing, has negatively impacted them and to consider other options and choices that might create a new better reality.
I know what it is like to have grown up feeling like others' needs and feelings should come before your own, to the point where you are not sure who you are and what you want. I know what it feels like to feel like you don't fit in, you're "too sensitive" or "too much" and to feel like you need to change or hide parts of yourself just to be loved and accepted.
Therapy and getting in touch with who I am and what matters to me has helped me to become a more present, authentic and genuine person, to have deeper connections in my relationships, to integrate the different parts of my identity, and able to find the balance between the challenges and joy in life.
My life experiences are what lead me to become the therapist I am today.
